Cliff Warner is a figurative mixed media artist and image maker based in Staffordshire. His work explores the emotional resonance of the figure, conveyed either in solitude or placed together, juxtaposed with a narrative of introspection and connection.
Through each piece, Warner endeavours to evoke an emotional response that resonates with his viewer and invites them to create their own meaning. In the deliberate juxtaposition of solitary figures or groups engaged in moments of introspection, he aims to reveal the silent dialogues that occur within us, and visually traverse the enigmatic nature of personal and shared narratives.
Warner also has an interest in fashion illustration. In 2022, he was invited by fashion image maker Nick Knight at SHOWstudio to fashion illustrate the Milan A/W Menswear Collections. Fashion illustration and photography, in turn, have given inspiration to Cliff’s own figurative fine art practice. He works primarily on canvas using acrylic, ink, pastel, and charcoal.
