David Harkins is a prominent British abstract artist based in Brighton, England. Originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, his work explores human states of mind, often blending tribal elements, colorful symbolism, and meditative storytelling with his psychological and natural world interests

 

Harkins studied Social Anthropology at the University of Edinburgh, before achieving a Psychodynamic Counselling Diploma at Goldsmiths College, University of London. In 2002, he  completed his MA in Fine Art at the University of Brighton/

 

Harkins describes his work as ‘’reflections on the moth eaten tapestry of life." A psychologist at heart, he explores states of mind, particularly the affects of the natural world on the human psyche.
