Phil Atrill is a London-based glass artist with a dreamy, distinctive practice. He originally studied at the Edinburgh College of Art, where he obtained a BA Honours Degree in Glass in 1995. The following year, Atrill began working in London as a full time glasswork assistant, producing his own work during his free time. In 2001, he received an MA Glass from the Royal College of Art. The artist was then the recipient of several scholarships, which enabled him to train under leading glassmakers in Lybster, Scotland and Stanwood, Maine.
Today, Atrill exhibits throughout the UK and Europe. His work is featured within many private and public collections, including in the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge. As a professional glass artist, Atrill has also collaborated with many prominent designers, instructing and enabling other artists to be able to produce their own glasswork.
