Gavin Dobson is a painter based in London, known for his vibrant and expressive artworks that often explore themes of identity, sexuality, and personal experience.
Having aphantasia, many of Dobson's paintings have no set starting point. They are created fresh onto the canvas, where they continuously evolve in no predetermined way. Whilst primarily a figurative artist, he enjoys experimenting with several genres including still life and landscape painting.
Acclaimed for it's unique playfulness, Dobson's work has been exhibited in galleries across the UK. Selected exhibitions include the Royal Academy, ING Discerning Eye and the Royal Society of Arts.
