The artist, in his own words: "I’m Ian Parmiter, also known as Lord Sonic. My journey as an artist blends sculpting and painting, drawn from my lived experiences. I was one quarter of the punk band Emptifish, where I learned about energy, intention, and visual rhythm. Art has become both a creative outlet and a way to navigate my Parkinson’s diagnosis, which I see as a gift that gives me clarity. It allows me to transform memory and storytelling into emotive, layered work.
I create pieces inspired by my daily interactions, exploring themes of identity, resilience, and introspection. The result is a body of work featuring jarring angles and misaligned elements, reflecting my being. Each day is very different, informing a new piece of work, a revised version of myself, a new conversation."
